Current Openings 2008-2009
We currently have a few openings in some grades K-8. If you are interested in enrolling your child in any of these grades for the current school year, please call us at 206-525-0581.   Preschool is currently full.  

Open Houses:

Our 2009-2010 Kindergarten Open House is scheduled for 7pm, November 5th, 2008.  Our 2009-2010 All School Open House is scheduled for NOON, January 25th, 2009.  If you would like more information about our school, please call our school office at (206) 525-0581. 2009-2010 Registration Information
Priority Registration for 2009-2010 Preschool and Grades 1-8 takes place during Catholic Schools Week and our All School Open House. 

For preschool and grades 1-8, priority enrollment is given to continuing students, parishioners, and families of current students who register before Open Enrollment.  For kindergarten, priority enrollment is given to parishioners and families of current students who register before Open Enrollment.

Financial Aid
Tuition rates at St. Catherine School reflect a sincere effort to stay affordable while providing the resources to adequately compensate our skilled and knowledgeable teaching staff.  The tuition-setting process involves members of the school budget committee, the principal, the pastoral life director, school commission, parish finance council, and the pastoral council. 

In order to better fulfill our mission as a Catholic School, and to enable parents who desire Catholic schooling for their children to be able to afford that schooling, we offer access and utilization of our tuition assistance fund. If you feel that you may have difficulty meeting monthly tuition payments next year, we would like to encourage you to apply for tuition assistance. Applications are now available in the school office. Because they may require some time to assemble the necessary documentation, please pick up an application in the office now. 

New Students
New students may be screened by our Learning Specialist to assess learning needs. Registration papers of new students will include copies of birth certificates, any baptismal records, and report cards, if applicable.

Commitment
Because St. Catherine School relies heavily on parent volunteers and supplemental income to keep tuition affordable, each K-8 family must commit to 45 hours of volunteer work for the school and/or parish. Five of these hours must be completed in connection with the school auction. In addition, each family contributes a $150 item to the school auction, participates in the school Annual Fund Drive, and must purchase $750 in Scrip.  Preschool families are encouraged to become active in the school and are required to purchase $250 worth of scrip and contribute a $100 item to the school auction.  Many volunteer opportunities exist and help is welcome.  Volunteer opportunities help build a sense of community at St. Catherine School and we appreciate your participation.

2008-2009 Fees and Tuition

There is a $150 non refundable registration fee for preschool - grade 8, except if you are a new family registering for kindergarten. For new kindergarten families, there is a $300 registration fee, with $150 applied to first month's tuition. There are additional fees for selective classes for camp, retreats and graduation. Tuition is payable in 11 monthly installments from August through June. The following tuition rates are for the school year 2008-2009.

Extended Care is available for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Hours: 7:00 to 8:30 am and 3:00 to 6:00 pm Half-days: 12:00 to 6:00 pm (Note: after 6:00 pm additional charges will be required) Registration fee: (non-refundable) $50
